Nymphoplasty

Cosmetic surgery consisting in the reduction of the labia minora of the vulva (Labia minora).

This surgery consists in cutting excess skin around the labia minora. It is prudent not to remove skin around the clitoris so as not to cause loss of sensitivity. In the gynecological position, drawings will be made to estimate the excess that needs to be corrected. The procedure is done in less than an hour under local anesthesia. A mild sedative medication may be given as needed.

The risks are very low and include infection or bleeding. A very small needle is used to freeze the area to be treated. There is no pain during the procedure and two rows of melting points will close the wound.

Postoperative care

This procedure is more uncomfortable than painful, the discomfort being related to edema or swelling of the labia minora in the three days following the procedure. The pain is relieved by codeine for the first few days and with TylenolDM afterwards. It is recommended to simply do sitz baths or to rinse the operated area in the shower after using the toilet. Antibiotic ointment should also be applied during the first few days. The dots will have melted around the fifteenth day.

When can you resume sexual activities?

As soon as the healing process is complete, i.e. within three to four weeks after surgery.
