Neck lift

A neck lift — also called platysmaplasty — is a surgical procedure performed on the muscles in the front of the neck. This procedure tightens muscles and skin, which tightens the neck and improves its elasticity. A neck lift also improves the jaw line by reducing excess fat and sagging skin. Less invasive than a face lift, a neck lift tightens underlying muscles for a more youthful appearance. A neck lift and a face lift can be done at the same time.

The neck lift is done under general anesthesia. For a more harmonious result, it is often combined with a face lift that allows the entire face to be corrected. Excess fat deposits are removed from the neck and, if necessary, the underlying muscles are restructured. The surgery usually takes 2 to 3 hours.
