Breast augmentation
Breast augmentation is a cosmetic surgical procedure that consists in the implantation of breast prostheses to increase the volume of breasts that are naturally too small or to restore the volume lost as a result of pregnancy or weight loss. The decision to have a breast augmentation is very personal and should be made in an informed manner.
Breast implants are made of a silicone shell and contain either silicone gel or saline (saline). The choice of the implant is determined before the operation by a consultation to obtain the best solution for each patient. This choice should be made in agreement with your surgeon. On the one hand, there is the patient's wish, and on the other hand, the technical possibilities of choosing the implant. These technical possibilities are directly linked to the morphological characteristics of your chest before surgery.
Prostheses vary in shape and size: they can be round or anatomical (drop-shaped) and the volume of the prostheses depends on the width, height and projection of the implant, the choice of which cannot be separated from the assessment of certain structural characteristics of the patient, such as height and weight and chest dimensions.
In order to allow you to make the best decision for you, the CMC has the Vectra 3D photography system. This device makes it possible to take photos of the breasts in 3D and to simulate the result of the intervention on a screen according to the shape and size of the implants chosen.
The surgery lasts an average of one hour and a half and is performed under general anesthesia. You can quickly return to your usual activities after a short recovery.
