SHIFT

Temporary position of 14 months, 7/15 at night (23:15-7:30), every other weekend.

MISSION

The Asclepiade Convalescence Center is a residential center offering a prolonged and worry-free convalescence to patients who have had recourse to gender affirming genital surgery from around the world. Her activities range from admission to recovery following surgery, through teaching self-care procedures to email and telephone follow-up during convalescence at home.

GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION

Under the authority of the head of the care units and his assistant, the assistant nurse of the immediate supervisor ensures that the care provided at the convalescent home is of quality, safe, personalized, personalized, continuous, and provided in a harmonious and professional atmosphere. They ensure the cleanliness and safety of the premises and ensures that the regulations of the convalescent home are respected. They have some management responsibilities.

Key responsibilities:

  • Must be available at all times to respond to emergencies;
  • Exercises clinical judgment: adapts care and interventions to the patient's situation;
  • Ensures the continuity of care and the safety of patients;
  • Establishes therapeutic nursing plans (PTI);
  • Supervises the health status of the nursing assistant's patients;
  • Count the narcotics;
  • Supervises and evaluates the various self-care techniques of patients;
  • Evaluates surgical wounds, records information on appropriate documents and makes appropriate recommendations to healthcare personnel;
  • Manages the allocation of patients to team members according to the intensity of care;
  • Collaborate in ordering narcotics in accordance with established quotas, receives them and records them in the binder provided for this purpose;
  • Check the narcotics registration sheets, follow up with the healthcare team if necessary and notify the head of the care units or his assistant of irregularities;
  • Ensures the proper functioning and appropriate use of materials and equipment, and follows up with the head of the care units or her deputy if necessary;
  • Ensures that supplies of care equipment and stationery are in sufficient quantity to meet the needs of the convalescent home;
  • Makes up for unexpected staff replacements;
  • Contributes to maintaining a harmonious work atmosphere;
  • Acts as a resource person and as a role model for existing staff;
  • Perform any other related tasks at the request of his immediate supervisor.

REQUIREMENTS

  • DEC in nursing;
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing, an asset;
  • Member of the Order of Nurses of Quebec (OIIQ);
  • Excellent command of French and English languages in order to be able to communicate with our French and English speaking patients;
  • Experience in surgery and psychiatry, an asset.
