SHIFT

Permanent position, 8/15 at night, Monday to Thursday from 15:15 to 23:30 — no weekends

MISSION
The Metropolitan Surgery Center is aimed at private clients. Its priority is to ensure a high level of quality of care and services while meeting the highest standards in terms of the continuity of health and safety services. Its activities are mainly gender affirming surgeries, but also elective and reconstructive cosmetic surgeries, laparoscopic bariatric surgeries, urological surgeries and otolaryngological surgeries. In addition, the CMC offers the care required by surgeries thanks to its pre and post-operative clinic, its care units and its competent staff who listen to the needs of clients.

GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION
Under the authority of the DGA — management of medical care and services, the nurse ensures the provision of quality, safe, personalized, continuous care, in a harmonious and professional atmosphere. In addition, she is involved in research aimed at health promotion and disease prevention. It takes on some management activities.

Key responsibilities:

  • Must be available at all times to respond to emergencies;
  • Ensures the continuity of care and the safety of customers;
  • Participate in the intershift relationship;
  • Admits clients in preparation for surgery and assesses their physical and mental condition;
  • Perform post-operative care and supervision upon return from surgery;
  • Regularly assesses the health status and postoperative recovery of patients during tours;
  • Administer medications as required in accordance with existing policies and procedures;
  • Perform patient care according to the type of surgery and according to current care techniques and methods;
  • Plan his working day according to the priorities of the clients assigned to him;
  • Collaborates in the counting and ordering of narcotics and medications in accordance with established quotas, receives them and records them in the binder for this purpose;
  • Overcomes unexpected staff absences;
  • Collaborates in the identification of potential risks in the care unit with the participation of staff;
  • Perform any other related tasks at the request of his immediate supervisor.

REQUIREMENTS
• DEC in nursing
• Bachelor's degree in nursing, an asset
• Member of the Order of Nurses of Quebec (OIIQ)
• 2 years of experience in surgery
• Excellent knowledge of the French and English languages to be able to communicate with our French and English speaking patients
